Afternoon Tea @ Astor Court (New York, NY)

I’ve been meaning to review the tea service at Astor Court at St. Regis NYC for quite sometime! The first thing I will say is that Astor Court is one of the most lovely atmospheres in which I have had Afternoon Tea. I love the cloud mural and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The crown molding, and gold accents also give the dining space a very regal aesthetic.

In terms of my experience, I found the wait staff to be very attentive! The presentation of afternoon tea was also lovely and the tea ware was clean and classic. Astor Court was very accommodating and custom made a vegetarian tea tray for us. My favorite part was the scones!

After tea, I also recommend stopping by King Cole, which is an upscale bar located at the back of the Astor Court dining room. King Cole is an NYC icon, with signature cocktails and canapés! Let me know if you try it, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Xx

Janam Afternoon Tea @ Garfunkels (NYC)

I have so many lovely things to say about the Janam afternoon tea service at this little speakeasy in the lower east side. First of all, the Garfunkels speakeasy is gorgeous, I love the interior and I can imagine in the evening the aesthetic is very romantic. Ronil and I met two of our friends here in the afternoon for tea. It was very bright, with windows along the back wall, and the decor reminded me of an old library or antique shop.

The hostess informed us of a “no screen” rule, so we were only able to take a few photos. I really loved this though, because it actually helped us all disconnect from our phones for a few hours. This really made for such great conversation and an amazing afternoon tea experience!

As far as the afternoon tea goes, I was pretty impressed. They offered a vegetarian and non-vegetarian option, which I really appreciated. We had one of each! Of course, Ronil and I had the vegetarian tea tray :)

Overall, I think the food was really good. My favorite was the egg salad sandwiches. Also, the scones were amazing!

If I had to critique this tea service, I would say, I did find it odd that we didn’t have many options to choose from for our tea. I feel like the server may have given us two options. Even still, both of the teas we had were great! I would absolutely recommend visiting this tea room if you haven’t already. The staff were exceptionally friendly, the food was great, and the atmosphere was quiet and lovely….everything you’d expect for the perfect afternoon tea date <3

Tea at Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I (Barcelona, Spain)

So as it turns out, there aren’t many places in Barcelona where you can have High Tea. After a lot of research, Ronil and I discovered this gem of a hotel! B24 is a restaurant in the Juan Carlos I hotel, which offers a “Tea Time” menu. This is not your traditional High Tea menu. You can select a 6 or 14 piece pastry dessert tray, and separately you can order a pot of tea. Note: B24 also offers Spanish Tea Time as a menu option, which has more savory snacks. However, most of these options were not vegetarian friendly, so we opted for the dessert tray.

We ordered the 6 piece dessert tray, two pots or tea, and a cheese plate. I have to say, the presentation was beautiful and I couldn’t resist taking a million photos before we started trying out all the sweet treats!

For me, the biggest sale for this place was the aesthetics. I love the hotel, the lobby was gorgeous, and the surrounding grounds were equally amazing. As for the food, I would say it was pretty mediocre. Not terrible, but nothing special. The tea selection was also underwhelming. When I am out for High Tea, I usually expect to be served loose leaf tea. B24 did not deliver on that expectation.

With all that said, I am sure you’re wondering if I would recommend having tea at B24. If you’re someone who enjoys High Tea and you’re traveling to Barcelona, then yes, I would absolutely recommend it! We had an amazing experience visiting Juan Carlos I for tea. Being a 5 star hotel, the accommodations are pretty nice, and as I mentioned, the grounds are gorgeous. If you have the time, I’d also recommend getting a day pass to hang out by the pool!

I hope you enjoyed the review! Let me know if you get a chance to visit and please share what you thought of tea time at B24. Xo!

Tea time @ the taj mahal tea room (Bandra, Mumbai)

Such an amazing and fresh take on the traditional English style of afternoon tea! I’m still dreaming of going back to this tea room on my next visit to India 🇮🇳!

The Bandra locality was very cute and the interior of the tea room was what I’d call “vintage inspired/shabby chic” with lots of blue accents. That said, this place was exactly my style!

I loved that they had their own spin and didn’t stick to the traditional tea sandwiches that you get at almost every tea room. Also the masala chai tea was to die for!

We should be visiting again in December! I’ll post an update on our next experience here soon. Xo!

Birthday tea @ MarieBelle (Soho, NYC)

While having lunch at the Sola Pasta Bar in Soho, we stumbled upon the perfect spot for Birthday Tea! Not only do I share a name with this Chocolatier, I love their tea selection! While the MarieBelle location on Park Ave is primarily a boutique chocolate and gift shop, the Soho location has a coca bar that offers afternoon tea, lunch, and deserts a la carte!

We were pretty full from lunch, so we only ordered tea and dessert, but the high tea menu looks fabulous. I plan on revisiting very soon for the full experience!

More thoughts: The interior is gorgeous and a must see. The service was excellent, I would say well above average. Also, I have to say (from my experience) MarieBelle is the most affordable spot for afternoon tea in NYC.

Happy Birthday to Me 💕
